Marriage Woes... / 9/1/07
Whilst having a conversation with a friend of mine, the topic about long term relationship came along. We both have been in a relationship for 3 yrs now and in fact our anniversaries are a month apart. Having such wonderful partners, it would be stupid and mean to break their hearts in anyway. But it’s human nature to feel bored after a period of time. A long term relationship gets stagnant. I explained to him and told him to try out some of my advices that seemed to have worked. Nothing unique, it's the normal kind of stuff people do to keep their relationship together and it works. The reason why most people say it never works is because they don't try. Doing something different instead of the usual shopping or dining will make so much of a difference. However, my friend said he tried it all and proclaimed that if he had met his current girlfriend little later in life, things would be so much better. That puzzled me and I asked him how so. He claimed that this is the age for us to have fun and do the things we should be doing like, socialising, making new friends, dating more and of course more dancing. But at the tender age of 23 and 24, we are attached and are committed heavily. To top it off, both my friend's and my parents are hinting about marriage. The conversation continued on and we both came to a solution that we are blessed to have met our partners and we have no choice but to treat them the best we could. We can't change the fact that we have already met these people and wishing that we could meet them later in life would be absurd and selfish. I have about 4 more years for marriage and I have tried my best to explain to Mummykins that having an engagement now would be pressuring for me. Besides, we both are students. My Mum, being an avid investor wants us to start applying for a flat. However, my friend is in a worst situation. He is pressured by both his fiancée and parents to tie the knot. This conversation freaked me out. 4 more years to be married? I never thought about it. Everyone else around me is. Puppykin's is just waiting for the right time. Scary isn't it?
Oh well, enough of the serious talk already….
The weekend is here! And I’ve made my plans already. Nope there won’t be the usual clubbing and getting drunk routine. I’m bored of that. I made an appointment with the Spa at 2.40pm so that I could get a brazilian wax. [Yeah! Been wanting to get that done for sometime but never had the patience or time to get down to it,] The Spa is a cozy one in Orchard Lido and Mummy claimed that the service there is good. I’ll be meeting Lynn and Gaya3 for lunch and spending time with Puppykins. We might catch a play in the esplanade. Yippeeee! So much to do and I can finally head down to borders to get the book I’ve been wanting for like eons. Ok….Laterz! Ta!
Stumble It!
