Hello my fellow bloggers. I bet you guys must have had been complaining all day about the weather. I enjoyed it. Instead of going to work, I decided to stay at home to revise for my Microeconomics test next Friday. You might say it’s a bit too early, considering the fact that I have a week left but Reena’s policy for this semester is to prepared way earlier then the test date.
Handling work, school and tuition can be toiling at times. At the end of most nights, I am so famished and fatigue makes my mood swing. Shaun’s been a darling and he’s been super tolerant lately. Sometimes I wonder if I am encumbering my life with added responsibilities that I can choose not to undertake. Like tuition. It’s not necessary for me to teach but I enjoy it and the money’s is good. I’ve been telling myself that making money is more important than leisure and I’ve been sticking to that mantra that repeats itself every time I take my hand phone to message my tuition student about a change or cancel in lesson. To shop like a Queen, I have to work like an Ant! Err…I hope you get what I mean. Take every opportunity to make money. Even if it’s a small amount, it will help one day.
Le me give you an example. During my holidays, when I was working as a full time staff in Marriott and getting paid about
$1500 as a basic with their added generous commission, I used to take taxis all over the place! (Mind you, that amount I used to receive was a big deal for me considering the fact that I am a student la…) At the end of every month I used to be super broke that I used to regret taking all those cabs and I would take out my pile of receipts and count the amount I spent on cabs alone. On one occasion, believe it or not, the amount was $150. Freaking $150 spent on comfort, premiere and good knows which other company! That’s when I started imagining an absolutely ridiculous vendetta against all taxis and refused to enter any unless really really imminent. It’s worked!
I can’t go on being a spoilt brat I once was. Yes, Mummy and Daddy keep mentioning that it’s no necessary for me to work and all I have to do is to ask for the money and I know my Dad wouldn’t even ask why I need it. He would just give. But, I’m 22 turning 23 and it’s my turn to give them the best I have to offer. I want them to enjoy their retirement, travel all over the world and be proud of the fact that their children are graduates, leading their own independent, successful lives.
For all that to happen, I have to start somewhere. I believe it’s never too late for anything and I shall try, although I keep stumbling, to be the ideal person I always wanted to be.
